With everything that’s going on in New York right now, I can’t help but reflect to a happier time when i visited the city that never sleeps! One of the most incredible, dynamic cities in the world.

My visit was in late spring so the weather was perfect! I stayed in Manhattan at New York EDITION , a lovely centrally located luxury Marriott property. I couldn’t have asked for a better location.

The New York EDITION seamlessly blends elegant interior design with its Madison Avenue landmark beginnings. Originally constructed in 1909 as Metropolitan Life Insurance Company’s headquarters, this clocktower, near Madison Square Park, has been ingeniously reinvented to offer luxury boutique accommodation, a tranquil hotel spa, chic new event spaces and a Michelin-starred restaurant, all encompassed by 360-degree views of the City.

Public transportation is great in New York and really there’s no need to rent a car . It will cost you more in parking. We took the subway and train system every where. The hop on hop off bus is a great and affordable way to see all the tourists spots at your own pace.

The New York City Subway is the largest rapid transit system in the world by number of stations, with 472 stations in operation (424 if stations connected by transfers are counted as single stations). Stations are located throughout the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.

Hop On, Hop Off Bus Tours allow you to take a guided tour around the city from the comfort of a big double Decker bus that stops at all the major attractions. The great part about these types of tours is that you are free to hop off the bus at any of the attractions, spend as much time as you like enjoying it and then hop right back on the bus to continue on to the next destination.

The culinary experience in New York is like no other! With influences from the whole world over, you’re bound to satisfy your taste buds. I checked out Jay Z’s 40/40 club and it didn’t disappoint. We also had to try dessert at serendipity and it was delish!

NYC is everything it’s billed out to be and then some! We loved it and plan to be back with the rest of the family; I feel there’s so much more to see so this is is not my last visit to the big Apple, and with a return to normalcy, this should definitely be on your future travels list.
